Precise Fly Safe Database Updates, should I update?

Hi all,

I have not flown my drone in ages....like 1.5 years now. And when I started up my Mavic Pro drone today, I see there is an update for the Precise Fly Safe Database. Should I update this? I have read about some concerns about this, such as the update failing/stalling.....or updating may limit even more where we can or cannot fly.

So is it safe to update? Or can I ignore this continuously? I think that nagging will continue as long as I don't update, right? Also I have read that DJI may "punish" people who don't update by disabling their drones....

@TestPilot there are two schools of thought on the subject, and you will find very little common ground between the two camps
i myself like to have all updates in place before i fly ,then there are those, for whom that statement would be classed as complete folly and a big NO NO
so really its down to you in the end to make that decision

If the App device is not connected to the web when the App is running I am curious as to how DJI would be aware that the drone is 'un-updated'.
Does the app 'check' when it is not open/running?
