From Dji, "Pilots will still receive app support and firmware updates. “As we understand it, operators can continue to use their current DJI equipment,” a DJI spokesperson said. “We have no plans to discontinue product support via firmware or app updates.”

Parts are less certain, so they suggest we contact dealers for answers there.

No, I think they realize it won't end, but they also aren't going to leave us without app support and FW updates that are still available internationally. No cost for letting us access them, too. My bigger concern is they are pro-actively treating the drones they are not selling in the U.S. as though they are, by unnecessarily forcing RID broadcasting when we could just add an external module.
