Today I tried to use the camera function to record to the SD card, but when I connected this to my laptop, the video folder had no files in it?? Can anyone tell me the procedure for capturing stills and video to the SD card?

I have no faith in Drones Direct to get back to me as this is not the first issue, albeit they did replace my order as the controller did not switch on. Any clues on this would be most welcome

Did you format the card from within Go 4?

It is easy to hit the wrong button or miss hitting it entirely. Make sure the video time counter is counting up when capturing video.

Hi, not sure what you mean "Go 4"? I was using the controller without the smartphone being attached so there would not be a counter to see?

You must to configure DJI go 4 with in a device such as a smart phone or tablet. Using a smart phone attached to the controller also allows you to to make changes to the configuration of the drone on the fly. This is very helpful for changing exposure settings as well as video format. Most importantly though, you must use the app to format the SD card for use with your drone.

I have just formatted on the laptop so will try again tomorrow

Agreed. IMO, you should always format the Micro SD card within the app - a quicker route is to bring up the aircraft status menu, scroll to the bottom and tap format next to 'remaining SD card capacity. Formatting with your PC will probably work but I personally think it is better to configure all of these parameters from within the drone app environment.

Hi , I am using the app recommended in their booklet , xsw-ufo. Does this allow for formatting the card whilst it's in the drone?

DJI Go and DJI Assistant are the official support apps for DJI drones. You will need one of these apps to update the firmware for the drone, RC and batteries. SD card formatting can also be performed.

I have the Pro Flight Maverick and the app I mentioned is in the manual so not sure why it would be a one of these apps you mention....confused now

See my manual below, it is the MAVERICK not the MAVIC?
