Hello,

After trying myself to update the drone and the controller I now hope to find help here.
Dji Support doesn`t seem to like being contacted because when I click there support buttons nothing happens (I live in Europe).

So, first I tried updating during the dji go 4 app (latest version) and got this "unfamiliar firmware found" or whatever and swiped to the right. After a few tries it understood what i wanted. With full batteries the update finally started but stopped at 72% and the batteries had run out. Next I tried this Assistant 2 software and connected the controller directly to my pc. I read that the software should recognize the controller immediately and start the update but it doesn`t . Once again, nothing happens.

And now I am running out of ideas. I also read that DJI already stopped releasing updates for this one. Is this true?

I hope someone has some ideas,

Thank you,

Firstly it's important that you have installed the correct version of DJI Assistant 2 that is compatible with the Mavic 2 series.

You find the correct version here --> Mavic 2 - Download Center - DJI

Download the variant you want (Mac or Windows) & install it.

Make sure the device (RC or drone) is fully charged before continuing...

After this, start DJI Assistant 2 on the computer (internet connected) & connect your device (RC or the drone) to the computer with a USB cable intended for data transfer (not one only working for charging).

Once connected, turn the device (RC or the drone) on... after a couple seconds a icon should turn up in Assistant 2.

Here a clip to visualize the connection & how it should look in Assistant 2 when connecting a Mavic 2 RC... the procedure is the same for the drone.

The Mavic 2 series is a since long discontinued model... it's highly unlikely that it will get further firmware (RC or drone) updates. The DJI GO4 app may still get some updates.

Thank you very much, I will go over all your points and try again,

For how long do you think will one be able to use this model when firmware has been discontinued a long time ago?
I mean, release was in 2018, it`s not that old. I understand that the company is pushing the customer to buy new models all the time but it`s also bad customer service, I think. Maybe I am missing other points as well,

Thanks again,

If nothing regarding firmware bugs prevent your drone to be used... I would say that for as long as you want. The major obstacle that in the end will render your drone setup useless is the batteries, once those no longer can be sourced you're grounded.

...it`s also bad customer service, I think.
Welcome to the DJI eco-system ;)

Right, batteries! I even tried earlier to find new batteries for the first Mavic Pro but couldn`t find any..

Also, you mentioned the usb cable for transfer. I only tried the short one you normally connect between controller and phone but that apparently doesn`t work,

Haha, yeah DJI isn`t unfortunetly the only company running business like this but it`s just frustrating that they always are being cheap on that end.
