I am very new to real drone flying, I've been flying toy drones, even $200 toy drones, and I set all of my limits for my first few flights. Distance 50 yards altitude to 50 ft. So now I wish to put the settings to a lot higher and distance to alot farther. I cannot find the button to allow me to adjust these settings. This newbie needs some help

There's an (old) DJI Go app and the DJI Fly app is for all current models.
But there's no GO Fly app
What drone are you asking about?

If you are using any of the models which use the DJI Fly app, you find the settings you are asking about by tapping the three dots in top right of your screen.
Under the Safety tab you'll see this:

Because those settings are stored in the drone, you need to have the drone connected to see them.

DJI does not make an app called Go Fly. On Play store you will find several apps named Go Fly or similar. None of them are official DJI apps, and not supported by DJI.
The only place you can find genuine DJI apps is on the DJI website: Download Center - DJI
DJI Fly is for newer drones, DJI Go4 is for older drones, like Phantom 4 and Mavic 2.

Greetings from Birmingham Alabama USA, welcome to the forum! We look forward to hearing from you!
  1. Open the DJI Fly app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Go to Safety
  4. Go to Flight Protection
  5. Set the Max Altitude

Power up your drone and contoller as if you're getting ready to fly. Your Fly App should open. Click on "Go Fly" in the bottom right of the screen. This takes you to the screen that you see what the drone sees. In the upper right corner of the screen, there are three dots. Push those. It takes you to the next screen with tabs. On the Safety tab, you an adjust those parameters.

I had the drone connected after reading your answer I went back out hooked everything up and the app is GO Fly dji controller. And there are no 3 dots in the upper right corner, and there is no settings button anywhere. Believe me, I've attempted touching everything on the screen with no luck. I've un-installed and reinstalled the DJI Fly app with the same issue w/o giving me the option for changing parameters. Thank you very much for your rapid response 👍

So you're using some "fake" / 3rd party app instead of the official one. Since on Android DJI do not put their apps in the Play Store anymore some scammers have made apps to try and get you to install them when it's all you find. With an Android phone you have to download the apps directly from DJI at Download Center - DJI

You never said which drone you have, nor what smartphone. The official app will be either DJI GO 4 or DJI Fly depending on which.

If your app is called GO Fly, it's a fake and should be deleted immediately.
It's never going to help you.
Posts #4 & #9 tell you where to get the genuine DJI app.

This may be what he has. It looks highly suspicious, although they claim more than a million downloads and a 4.3 rating. Commenters mention inline ads and a paid version. It's not something I'd trust.

That will be a NO. Maximum height allowed in Germany is 120m so your controller is already outside of regulations.
