Question about shooting in raw?

I have a question about shooting in raw.

Why is the "Color" option available when shooting with raw? Isn't raw just an uncompressed picture straight from the sensor? Would adding a "Color" filter to it be pointless?

It shouldn't affect the RAW file but the preview you see will change. it might look different on any thumbnail preview too.
