As I continue to learn more about my Air 3, and it's capabilities, I seem to have stumbled upon something I might consider an oversight, or flaw. While trying to familiarize .myself with the camera features, in this case in particular the subject, or target lock; it won't recognize my dog.
Wanting to take some action footage of my dog has to be done manually. I've also tried it on the cows, and the horses. Really disappointed about the horses. Getting footage of the running would be majestic.
Is there something I'm doing wrong, that my camera won't focus on animals? Or is there some kind of update I can download to fix this issue?

I noticed that. Seems like quite an oversight on DJIs part. I was wondering if anyone has come up with a software mod that remedies this...

Active Track used to be general, and lock on anything you drew a box around.

And was absolutely useless tracking.

The locking and tracking ability has improved enormously in the last 5 years – as they've limited the subjects more and more.

I understand it will not automatically display an icon saying you can track this subject which you just click on to start tracking said subject unless it’s people or cars, but doesn’t it track anything you draw a box around? My Air 3 is pretty good at tracking whatever I draw a box around. Granted, it’s not perfect, but it works!

I couldn't lock on my dog, horse, or cows...

It will lock on anything stationary for POI type flight, keeping something in-frame like a church steeple as you fly around it in Spotlight mode.

It won't track – i.e. fly itself – a general moving object. Only people and cars.

this has been an annoyance of mine since the air2 lol. As my dog is usually the one with me when im out and flying and can never be a test subject.
