Hi guys just got my first Mavic Air itching to fly it but I live really close to a airport but won’t to fly it indoors but can’t wont even start up is there anyway around it hope you can help thanks steve

Depends where you are. I live near Toronto and it’s red everywhere. I can still fly indoors and outdoors. Maybe this is different outside of Canada. It’s not legal here but you still can

No, there's not really a way around it if you're inside a red zone per DJI's GEO system.

I don't know if it will work on an Air, but if you cover the back of the Pro with foil it will block GPS forcing it into Atti mode. Flying will be more erratic so be sure to post a video of your crash .

EDIT: Sorry about the snarky crash comment. There are just so many indoor crash videos of excited owners that could not wait to go outside.

easiest way around it is to go to a park more than a mile away from an airport.

edit: that's for USA, not sure if England is same.

You can try going through DJI's authorization process to see if they will unlock it for you. Unfortunately, according to previous forum posts, they don't have an "indoor" option and they want you to supply proof you are authorized to fly in the area, which you obviously won't be (outdoors). You can send an email to [email protected] and see if they will authorize you, although since they probably don't have a way to limit you to indoors only, I suspect they may not unlock it for you.
