Refurbish / swap cells in battery

While I'm here I have another question. I have a few packs that are old 200+ cycles. When it's cold the cells are out of balance and they're beginning to swell. I won't fly with them I'm afraid they could fall off. But they do function. I have a few other packs/cells with an error. The battery icon turns red and there are no cell voltages. They are like new with only a few cycles. I can also fly with them, but no idea what percent, or if there is a bad cell. What I'd like to do is swap the new cells into the working old BMS. I've seen a few do it in YouTube videos. I have some empty battery cases from Aliexpress to make assembling easier. Is this difficult? Any hints?

I see you should keep the power connected to the BMS that is currently working. Then you don't have to reset them?

I also have a few that will not turn on. When I press the button or connect charger. There is a way to reset these? Then I can test the cells on the ground.

If you read thru and study how it is done then really its not that hard...I dont do it I have no detached room Just be aware that forums are full of Battery Building Fires..Rush a build and you could lose your house! Approach this in the right way and not only will you be able to make yourself an unlimited supply of Batteries...You can get on the Groundfloor of a new Business here in the U.S. ...Rebuilding old DJI Batteries!
I would start in the GITHUB Forums.

Look fleabay or alleyexpress for battery shells. Its hard to open the OE's without breaking tabs.

I have seen videos on swapping but cannot validate the technique used as best practice.

Use Github for Advice and questions just maybe you can find people that do it there. BuT also some Electronics gurus in your area would be a good option, I know some RC Guys that do it Maybe a trip out to the Flying field.

Will use CP2112 on batteries that are completely dead. I have 3 categories. Bad cells or bad data/BMS. Mostly those 2 can be swapped to make a good one.
