That chain in that position stops the clamp from fitting properly to the camera though
Agreed. The gimbal lock doesn't look like its installed correctly...
The lock is fully seated.
Just noticed... your camera isnt lined up with your gimbal clamp right but u seemed to pushed the clamp down anyway thus pushing your camera out at an awkward angle.. make sure those tabs line up with the corresponding slots on the rear of the camera. GL (edit: looks like u forgot to make a hole in it but instead thought it would be a good idea to use the camera mounting tab as a lanyard loop, eek)

I found it best to use a long string to attach. I used the draw string from the included spare propeller pouch.
