Flew my MP into a tree adjusting a Waypoint mission (totally pilot error). Fell ~90 feet to ground, breaking one front and one rear arm and destroying the gimbal and mount. Successfully replaced both arms. While installing a new gimbal and mount, found the camera communication cable had a disconnected wire, so also ordered and installed a new communication cable (a challenging job). Got everything back together, powered it up with no smoke (a minor victory!). Got normal boot up tones, but camera startup exercise is faulty. It bangs into stops, ends up pointing straight down, and interrupts the start up sequence. It re-tries to start up the camera, but continues to fail and finally the start up just stalls out.
Would appreciate ideas on what's causing the camera gimbal to get hosed up. Will probably just order new combo gimbal, mount, and lens, but would like to have some idea that that will solve the problem. Don't have a clue what could cause this symptom. If it's the camera control board, the replacement cost will run almost half the cost of new MP, and I'll still be in trial/error mode for repair. Thanks for your ideas. ......... R
