Repleacement Mini 2 will not connect to RC

I purchased Mini2 package from DJI a month ago and have been connecting Mini2 to RC and flying without issue.
Last weekend I lost the drone so I purchased a "Replacement drone - Never activated"
Now I am unable to get the RV to connect to the new Mini 2.
How do I activate the new Mini2?
Never get any prompts to do so.
Do I have to contact DJI?
Any help would be appreciated.

turn on the remote with the phone/tablet connected. go into the app and remote setting do link remote. then with the drone on while the remote is beeping you press and hold the power button on the drone
