RTH Issue

I will try it out during some different conditions and see what happens.

The Walt Whitman bridge is a large structure. Were you able to fly over the busy roadway on your way out at about 80 feet ATL or was that under the bridge. What is the approximate difference in elevation of your takeoff location and the water surface? I could see where the size and shape of the structure could easily confuse an obstacle avoidance procedure.

I go under the bridge.. The roadway is 150 feet above the water and the tallest span is about 400

Interesting. I knew it was a very large bridge; I hadn't crossed it since the early 1980's on trips from PA to Atlantic City.
Did you lose any satellites while under the bridge or have any control issues?

150 feet up, there's plenty of room for the drone to fly through well below it and the deck would only block a small part of the skyview.
There should still be more than enough sats to avoid any GPS issues unless the drone was high up and close below the deck.

I lose a few for only a couple seconds as I'm not under there long.

I'm using Straight line with the set height at 114. It's rising to 150-160 etc... far above the set height.
Do you take off from sea level or from a slightly higher altitude, say a river bank about 40' above sea level? Your RTH homepoint spot is set to 0' when you cold boot the a/c. Your start point is actually 40' ASL (above sea level). Suggest you adjust your RTH altitude to reflect the Homepoint altitude (i.e. 150'-40'=110') or start your bird at sea/river level

I’m taking off right on the shore of the river so I’m probably not that high and I do have it set for like 110 114 it’s hard to zero in on the exact number with those stupid sliders.

Totally agree on the sliders with DJI Fly--max altitude and distance. Just let me type in numbers like with DJI Go 4.

That won't help as the issue is that the drone is climbing well past the RTH height that has been set.
Sea level is completely irrelevant.
