I was running some tests on my Mavic Pro and initiated RTH. I had the RTH altitude set to 98ft but in one case I was flying at 15ft and the drone only ascended to 33ft before returning. Concerned I tried it again. This time I was at 36ft and the drone stayed at that altitude while returning. My Airdata logs confirmed that RTH was set to 98ft. In both instances the drone was only about 30ft away frome the home point. Was the close proximity to the home point the reason that the drone didn't rise to the set altitude?

How far horizontally was the drone?? it doesn't climb to RTH altitude unless it's more than 30m (guess, consult the manual) from the home point.

Yes, check the manual for the various RTH scenarios, Distance from home and current altitude matter; it should all be in the manual.

that close to home it does not do the climb to the preset height
its all in the manual as others have said
