I am using a Mini 4 Pro with an RC2.
I understand that, the RTH point is set, only at the time when the drone ascends to its first 2 mt of height, where it took off. Is there a method for choosing a different new RTH point, while the drone is still in the air? Or do we have to manually control the drone to land first at the new point that we desire and re-takeoff, for the new settings to be effective? I am asking this question for the cases such as we have walked some distance from the original RTH point and do not want to return to that point again on foot.
Put it in another way, is there a trick to Set a new RTH point while in flight?

It is possible and has been for many years. Please read the user guide to get the exact steps you need to perform but yes it is possible.

Yes, and it is very simple to do. I don't remember the exact step, but there is a button in the menu for it.

I actually just came to find out that I no longer do get that controller icon ( lost in an update?) ...so if you follow the steps in the video in post # 4 it is easy to do and works precisely as shown in the video

The GUI has changed, but you can still set the HP at either the RC or aircraft location.

I love my original Mavic pro being able to set RTH as the controller. I think that would even be better as default. IMO
When you reset the home point to the location of the controller, that is only to the location of the controller at the time you reset it.
It does not update to keep following the controller's location in the future.

...and this feature is available today on Fly for all DJI drones.
