I was working with an electronics company some years ago where we had a fairly new employee who had done a three month 'introduction to electronics', this made him a self proclaimed expert and would extoll his expertise to engineers and generally get shot down in flames.
This didn't seem to bother him and he continued on.
I was going into the building one day and here was 'Frank' setting up a K Band dish in the carpark, we had some designated areas with lines marked so we could demonstrate dishes to potential customers.
As I walked past I asked what he was aiming for, B1 he replied, what direction are you pointing, North, what angle, 48°, metric or imperial I asked as I walked off thinking no more about it.
About 2 hours later I get a call from a very unhappy boss, 'what are you doing to Frank' 'why, what's wrong' 'he has been on the computer for the past two hours trying to work out the difference between imperial and metric degrees instead of doing his work'.
