I am new to the magical mavic mini here in the UK and I maybe doing something wrong here, as when i go to my local beach and launch the drone it seems to stop flying forward when it approached the shoreline, this despite the range being at its maximum.

any ideas please

Are there any warnings issued such as weak controller signal or proximity to a flight restriction zone?
Do you have "beginner's mode" switched on, are you logged into the app? From memory beginner's mode limits both height and distance, not being logged in may do the same but I'd have to check that.
Are you by any chance flying with something 'heavy' attached to the drone that is triggering "payload mode"?
If you go to and read the instructions on DJI Flight Log Viewer | Phantom Help you will learn how to retrieve the flight logs from your phone.
If you are using the current version of the FLY App or a recent one then you could upload the log to that site and then post the resulting link here. That will enable the log wizards to possibly dig out a problem but be aware a map etc. of your flight will be visible.

@alanp does it only do it at that location ,or any where you fly it
it may be that you have payload mode activated which restricts height and distance from the home point ,and be aware that if you have prop guards fitted this automatically puts the drone in payload mode by default

Wow I didn’t know that. Does that apply to my MA2 and Spark? I have guards for both but have been flying the MA2 without for the last few months.
