Second hand drone insurance australia

Am thinking about buying a Phantom 4 pro but will have to go second hand as I can’t afford new. Can you get care refresh for a second hand drone ?

I have to say I mis-read the headline, and was puzzling out what second hand insurance could possibly mean.

I believe the 48 hours applies to a new drone, and during that time you can buy the coverage "no questions asked".
I'm seeing some posts on the DJI forum suggesting that if coverage has never been purchased for the drone, DJI may allow coverage; they ask for a video showing that the drone is fully functional. I'm not sure this is current, but HOW TO: Buying DJI Care Refresh for your DJI Drone (scroll to the bottom).

Yes thanks. I did read about sending them a video. What I also read was… if a second hand drone had a care refresh taken out by the previous owner than the new owner cannot take it out again. That seems odd to me if they are alteady
mentioning about sending them a video to prove it is working ok.
I might call them to discuss. If and when I do purchase a second hand drone I might need to ask the owner if he has had care refresh on it and also it’s serial number before I make the purchase.

I purchased a used M2P off ebay and contacted DJI. They will have you send them some files and if your drone passes then you can purchase Refresh!! I did and had to use it once already....

DJI have changed this due to the number of complaints, by the time you charge your batteries and get to fly the drone so many people had passed the expiry of the activation. My drone was activated in the DJI store before it left with the insurance, and they advised me of that.
