Seems crazy!No more T mode Mavic 2 Pro no side obstacle avoidance any mode.

After not flying for a while updated to latest firmware and as the title says no side obstacle avoidance anymore per DJI chat.Correct?

I think I noticed the lack of T-mode (but didn't pursue further at the time because I was testing for other things). But I did not notice that lack of side obstacle avoidance. I also noticed the update had removed my ATTI mode hack (configured into the S-mode position) but have yet to attempt to restore that.

I can't for the life of me guess what reasons they would have to remove either one.

Correct: You do have side sensors mounted on the Drone but now they work in cooperation with the other sensors as an omnidirectional avoidance system. As the tech for these sensors has improved it is no longer necessary to give the side mounted sensors a "specific purpose".
So while the side sensors may not receive firmware just for them, The future updates, and this one, certainly send info to the mounted sensors as part of a unit of front,back, and side, that are now one omnidirectional sensor.
