I know Seneca Rocks and Dolly Sods well, been going there for 40 years… more times than I can count. You did a real nice job capturing the essence of its unique features. Real nice edit. I like starting with the straight down shots. Seeing the bridge reminded me of my first flight at Seneca Rocks many years ago with my Phantom 3 4K. I was pushing my battery limit fighting a headwind and uplift trying to reach my launch spot at the Discovery Center, went into forced descent, figured it was likely unfindable in 4 levels of understory foliage on the side of the mountain. After 45 minutes in the Discovery Center considering a low % recovery effort, I overheard someone say ‘…drone…’, turn around to see an Amish guy who’d seen it descend gracefully onto the trail next to the bridge. My first of many lucky recoveries over the years.

Very well done! Visually stunning with the upward pointing rocks, but also with the fall colors. The whole area is beautiful!

I’m surprised you still had that much fall color. The colors start turning in Dolly Sods in early October with the blueberry bushes, but the valley starts a few weeks later. While flying in Dolly Sods Wilderness in not legal, Bear Rocks (at the end of Dolly Sods) is just outside the Wilderness. I have a lot of yet-to-be-published footage from Bear Rocks I’ll have to dig out. Bear Rocks is 2nd on my go-to spots to fly. Another is along the river at Harman’s Cabins (coincidentally, where I descended my Mavic Air 2 into the river, waded/swam out to retrieve it from the bottom and it still flies to this day). Dolly Sods Wilderness is one of the most unique areas you’ll find, resembling Mount Desert Island, Maine.
