Hi Perth Guys,
I have seen some great shark pool shots near Rockingham or point Peron area. I was about to fly from point Peron but find out that it falls under dpaw.
Any suggestions to fly from Point Peron? Or is there nearby locations where I can fly from/launch which does not fall under dpaw or local council laws.

P.s CASA's app has given green flag.

Check parks web page. You will find that so long as you comply with CASA regs and dont annoy wildlife you can fly in National parkx in WA.

WRT Point Perron there is a restricted area that touches the point, but it is activated by NOTAM so check them.

I wonder if harassing sharks is legal. Seems like it should be. If you fly the enterprise model, you can hover just above the sharks, and use the public address system of the drone, to taunt with quips like "neener, neener, neener", or when they burst out of the water, "whew, that was close".

Just a thought

As tempting as that might sound, I think humans harass sharks enough already. ??
"I think humans harass sharks enough already" is interesting because humans and sharks are each at the top of the food chain though of 'different worlds'. However we take from their food supply, whereas, unless by accident, they don't do well deer hunting, etc...

Hey guys, I found this page regarding rules for flying drones in Australian National Parks. Hope it helps. ?

I have seen people say that if you launch & land outside a park, you can still fly over it. Dunno how much truth there is to that.

This is WRONG as far as WA is concerned. The rules changed in early 2019

Humans harass sharks by slaughtering them wholesale for stupid things like shark fin soup. The global risk to sharks is still very high despite all the conservation efforts. While good progress has been made in the western world, eastern countries still represent the largest threat. Then there is overfishing which impacts their food supply as you mentioned, climate change and a host of other human-caused threats.

(update: sorry for the off-topic comment - just felt it needed to be said).
