Microscopic issue, I wouldn’t suggest bothering to expend the calories and wasted time to fix it, but it caught my notice, so I thought I'd put it out there.

This regards forum and forum grouping naming.

There is no "Mavic Mini" series. Just "Mini".

No Mini 1. Rather the "Mavic Mini".

"Air 1" should be "Mavic Air".

"Mavic 1 Series" => "Mavic Pro Series"

That would align with DJI's naming.

Anyone that's been on this Journey since the Mavic Pro knows how this got this way... It ain't the site operator's fault. DJI has been schizophrenic about names now and then, changing them.

I try to use the correct name whether it's the name of the product, the name of the process or procedure, or the name of the service. But as long as people have a good idea what you are talking about, I don't think you have to be so precise. Obviously you don't call the DJI Avata as the DJI FPV and you may not be so successful with calling Goggles V2 something like Goggles 2 because words matters sometimes especially when it comes to binding, pairing, connecting, etc. If dealing with DJI customer service it pays to be precise but on a causal forum, not sure all members need to follow strict guidelines which is best practice for the forum staff and moderators when it comes to being professional and clear and organized, etc. Pretty sure even DJI employees often get confused, they didn't make everything up overnight so it's a learning process and not everyone can be expected to get it right. If DJI is all over the board, we should expect the same from their customers.

On this forum, I get it right. On the MacOS forum, not so much. It counts when you are talking technical like Synology or Davinci Resolve (forums) but on Reddit or Slickdeals....probably not. Why drones, why not everything? If you are from Nebraska and you call it Neb or NE or NB or BFN.....not sure if it matters all that much in casual conversation.

Ah... a newcomer !!

The Mini series started life as the "Mavic Mini". DJI has dropped the "Mavic" but that doesn't change history. ;)

I know you know that because you mentioned it. But yeah, pretty small issue.
:)

Another way to look at it is that the Mini and the Air are definitely in the Mavic family of drones.

A case in point is the phrase smart controller. This term has been causing confusion repeatedly in one thread after another for a few years now.

Actually refers to the RM500 designed for the Mavic 2, but is used to wrongly identify the DJI RC: RC2 and sometimes even the RC PRO controllers released afterwards.

Shouldn't be a big deal, but it still results in the inevitable "...which smart controller?..." round of questions before the confusion gets resolved.

It has been confusing for some people. My first drone was a mm, I used to label as such, Mavic MIni, Mavic Air 2, Mini 3 p. Now I list as mm, A2, m3p. have for some time because of drone listing on this site groups it as such.

I kinda wish they would take the other forums they have and sort of work them into this one. Probably would be a big pain..
The Mavic Forum seems to be the popular one for everyone weather Mavic or not.
We seem to be able to get away with a lot of non-Mavic talk here tho, So its not a big deal.
Lots of good info on the other Forums too tho and alot of people miss it because they don't click the links below.
