I must have missed somewhere this is not present.

Has there been any mention this feature may be added to MA2 at some point in the future?

It’s a shame that the Air2 doesn’t have smart capture and the gesture control, it’s a useful feature for a quick photo or video on occasion. Likewise, the ability to fly the Mavic Air with just the phone, but without the controller, was also great. I’m not sure if I’ll sell my Mavic Air or keep it. They are really two quite different drones.

Couldn't agree more. I cannot believe Gesture and/or phone only was left off of the Mavic Mini, which is supposed to be the ultraportable travel drone; NOT if you also need to schlep around a controller and connect all of your stuff. Heck, you can't even wifi from the controller to the phone, like you could with the Spark. MA2 is a misnomer. The drone is really a Mavic 2 Mini. The Air and Air 2 are nothing at all alike.

I should receive my MA2 on Thursday. My upgrade path was more of a sidegrade/downgrade in my fleet to make room for the MA2. I sold my Spark and slid my Mavic Air down for the use cases where I would otherwise have used my Spark. Notably, I did NOT sell my MA to make room for the MA2. Apples and oranges.
