I know that the new smart controller is designed to only work with the new MP occusync 2.0, and future drones using 2.0. (Makes me wonder what will happen when 3.0 is released.)

I believe this is DJI's way to encourage upgrades.

My question is whether or not a modification to the smart controller could make the smart controller compatible with the Mavic Pro 1.

Is there a modification that can be done to the smart controller to communicate via occusync 1.0, to convert 2.0 to 1.0.

What in the world is occusync, anyway? Is it a radio signal? Is it a microwave signal? If that's the case seems like adjusting signal parameters, or swapping out a component part would be the modification needed?

How many of us would be interested in such a mod?

A modification you can do? Probably not. However, it could likely be done in a firmware update since DJI upgraded the P4P V2 transmission system from OcuSync to OcuSync 2.0 in a recent firmware update.

That's interesting. OcuSync to OcuSync 2.0.
So, it's doable.
I doubt DJI has an interest in doing it.
Would those who live for modifications be able to do it?
Firmware is not hardware, so I wonder what the difference between OcuSync and OcuSync 2.0 are?
Both are 2.8ghz and 5.X ghz, right?
