Smooth Motion Be Damned! - Mavic Air pausing continuously during Active Track in Smart Capture Mode

I can't figure this one out. Take a look at the below video; it is a 2 minute segment from a 12 minute long footage where the issue persisted for the entire duration. It is like the AC can't judge distances; catch-up, pause, catch-up, pause ... ad infinitum. And I have used Active Track in Smart Capture Mode before to know that it can do better than this. What could be causing this? Do I need to re-calibrate the vision system? Or is this just OA being too cautious? Any ideas?

I gave it another go, same road and it turned out to be much better this second time. I think the key is the distance and height from which the drone tracks you.

No, I was in smart capture (gesture) mode.
