Software for a Mac

iMovie is free in the Mac but I purchased the final cut pro x edition $299.

Best, that would be Final Cut. However it also has the steepest price and learning curve.

The learning curve is not that bad, just watch one or two YouTube video training on how to edit a video in final cut pro and you will get it.

Start with iMovie - its free and may do everything you need anyway.

As you gain confidence, go for Final Cut Pro. Its a natural progression from iMovie and its not difficult to get started once you know iMovie, but opens up a huge range of possibilities.

iMovie has more than enough features as a starter. Is a great app provided your Mac also has plenty of muscle under the hood.
