I know the feeling. Years back flying sailplanes with a camera mount I did the same thing after flying in a group of geese in very close quarters and after about 10 min I landed and realized I have no footage. It would have been the best footage I'd ever had, gone. AHHHH.

I charge my controller after every two photo shoots, even it shows near full charge. Just a habit I have
