This advisory appeared in AirMap last week as I prepared to fly in an open area near Park City, Utah.

I looked up AASHTO, it is the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials. Just curious why this would be an Advisory. Were they meeting in the area? What makes them something a drone pilot needs to be aware of?

Maybe they were demonstrating some UAV hardware for traffic management/monitoring and had one (or several) aircraft airborne.

Could have also been a large outdoor gathering and they were advising they were in the area covered by the extent of the map on the screen.

Didn’t you read this was a month after their meeting? Just find it weird a meeting of transit officials was worthy of an advisory. There would be a lot of advisories if this was the norm.

Read the post, don’t just look as the pretty pictures.

Here is your post copied verbatim and there is no mention of this being a month after the convention.

There is nothing there saying that AASHTO took place a month earlier, even in your pretty picture.

If the advisory shows up in AirMap try zooming in to the exact area you will be flying and see if it disappears. If not, further investigation may be called for such as NOTAM’s and or TFR’s.

OMG give it a rest. Here is the relevant portion of the post verbatim:

This advisory appeared in AirMap last week...”
