Hi guy’s

I put this question to someone from DJI, or someone who understands this problem!

With cases occurring in recent weeks where the M2’s literally falling from the sky as a rock’s due to connection loss. Most often this happens over water, that can I read it here...people claim that they do anything that would cause this phenomenon. I recently bought my own copy of M2P and now I am very nervous about these things. So far, I've been flying 10 times and I've entered 120 minutes of flight, everything is ok for now. So far I've been flying for about 80 hours with my MP without any incident, where people also reported various events related to the aircraft itself. many have been shown to be guilty of themselves due to wrong settings or bad handling of the pilots. On the other hand, there have been cases where the aircraft are in malfunction, like a batteries or one of two compass mulfunction (my case with my first MP in 2017)

Actually, I'm most interested in question, why the aircraft in case of signal loss does not return to its starting point? Why a drone simply falls from the sky?

I hope will get some reasonable answer on that question.

Thnx guy’s

Not sure they are falling from the sky due to a “connection “ loss. They are falling from the sky due to either a total power failure or FC failure.

If due to power failure it points to only one thing either a loose battery or a battery error where reported remaining battery life and actual battery life are not the same.

If due to FC reboot or stoppage not much you can do. Flight controller is critical. Might be due to overheating but anyone’s guess. Older MPP has a huge heat sink on bottom of drone.

Batteries IMO don’t fit a tightly as they did on the MPP. I add tape to mine. Overall fit and finish of MP2 is not as solid as MPP. But it’s still got a better camera and much more solid gimbal.

Ooooh yeah! I agree wit you, much better camera it is and gimbal quality .

We all use a device that weighs 900g. and flying by air at speeds up to 72 km/h (40 mph). and the height of 120m (300 ft) average!!! If we calculate gravitational pull in free fall witch is 9,8 m/s, I am not calm when goes to fly with this inexplicable phenomenon on my mind!

You really think there is a possibility that the battery itself will be released from its position? If the battery would be overheated, would there be any warning in that case? Many pilots reported that battery pops up from aircraft itself due to the crush.

If the problem is in the FC, I sincerely hope that the DJI are aware of this problem and that they will soon fix this issue in the next upgrade of the software...hope so!

In case of FC failure, would the aircraft have to return to the starting position? when once in the air, how is it possible that a complete failure occurs and falls like a stone?
It seems to me that it is bad programming by DJI

You’d probably get a better response if you put this in the sub forum specific to your M2. Just trying to help!

As I understand it, failure of FC would equal a crash. If you are high enough and FC just reboots which would show as a disconnect to the controller, aircraft might regain flight stability and either initiate RTH or continue to fly.

Today I flew with Epson, Moverio it's nice to always see warnings or anything that appears on the screen.

I deliberately lowered the aircraft behind a small hill, the signal was lost, expected and the RTH was triggerd, everything worked fine! Just for the test.
