I purchased a FOUR sided hood that worked great as the sunlight can sneak in at every angle.

Search for a product such as this which may work depending on the remote, phone, etc.

The umbrella would be better than any shade you could try. Another tip for you, always wear a black shirt or T-shirt to minimize the reflection from your body onto your screen.

I use my body with a big baseball cap, go under a tree or other shade. The less paraphernalia I have attached to my rig the better.

Depends on your drone but the DJI Goggles can be bought used dirt cheap.
