Has anyone ever had a swollen DJI battery..
I stored my drone and batteries away for about 7 months and when I took them back out of storage all three of my DJI batteries were swollen so I think I'm gonna have to trash them..
When storing DJI lithium batteries is there some special way of storing them so they won't get swollen?

Well known issue when storing fully charged batteries and why newer DJI bats will self discharge down to 75% or so after a few days.

You have won my Dreaded Battery Rant!
NEVER EVER charge your Batteries to 100 and store them for ANY amount of time!
the same can be said for storing a battery below 50 percent also.
Keep your batteries at a storage charge level of 60% then on the day of use charge them to 100. Bring them home and charge them back to 60 to store If you don't use all the Batteries you charge up Charge a device or simply put them on the drone and run them down to 60%
While your batteries just sit there DO NOT ignore them. every 3 weeks or so Cycle them.
You know all to well happens to ignored batteries now.

What's the lifespan of DJI batteries?
Years if stored properly. Mine are four years old and still working fine. My controller batteries on the other hand are showing signs of aging and are having problems reaching full charge on anything but the supplied fast charger.

Difference? The controller doesn't self discharge if left sitting unused for a few days.

Depends on the Drone and how you treat them honestly My air 2S can get about 230 or so cycles when treated properly and thats normal I have seen people kill their batteries way before this tho I have used probably 100 Air2s Battery and have gotten every cycle out of almost every one.

Only thing to add to this is check 'em every six months or so, and top them back up to 60%.

The best way to shorten the life of a DJI battery module is to store it and forget about it.

Good to know that they are meant to self discharge.
I found it frustrating the firs time I went to fly, after charging the batteries full a week earlier, and seeing they were down to @80%
