hi. i am new to mavic mini/ can i take video and photo at same time ? without stopping the video ?

Agree 100%. The ipad app Video2Photo is a great one.
I use it for small kids to get what I want when they are all jumping around.

Take a look. I find LumaFusion and affinity photo to be great iPad apps for video and photo editing. Less an less needs for the laptop to be carried around in recent times.

No. You must stop the video before snapping a photo.

Like msinger already replied you cannot do it, without stopping your recording. The remote has two dedicated buttons for video and photo, you cannot do both in the same time.
Now there is a workaround for grabbing photo's from video frames via 3rd party Apps. Take this with a pinch of salt, as you will end up with a lower quality photo because the native resolution of the camera in picture mode, is bigger than video.
