OK took drone out for test flight, my main question is when you record the flight should it go to the phone , I had a card but was not formatted, part of the learning curve , thanks in advance Bill

My bad its a mavic2 zoom been watching videos on it i think i have to set settings to which i want it sent too
I believe it will record to your micro sd card in full res., (as long as it has been formatted, best to do it in the bird itself), and it will also store a lower res onto your phone/tabby/device of choice.
