The Mavic Mini's capabilities with it's low price has introduced the drone hobby to a larger segment of consumers. Understandable why I seem to see so many questions from new owners who are having issues mechanical and operator related. I suspect the lower the price of the drone the less likely rules and regulations are followed. On the plus side it certainly allows limited budgets the opportunity to enjoy the hobby.

It also seems, the lower the price the less inclined people are to read a manual.

No more than any other model.

Again no more than any other model and it don’t matter rule
breakers are going to do what they want with any model.
If you read much here you would both know that.
The mini has caused lots more OE incidents especially wind related but for the ones that are not first time flyers and understand it’s limitations that hasn’t been a issue.
I do think they needed to research it more before they released it but that’s DJI’s marketing.

And caring less about crashing it. Expecting more then realistically possible from such a small package?

Well I can see now this thread is about flaming the Mini
and some of it‘s users so don’t be surprised when it disappears guys .
It can continue for the moment but if it continues in a negative way it will.

i agree Dc nothing has changed its been this way since it came out ,i expect there will be similar comments about the new air when it is released

The problem is with the pilots not the drone. There will always be irresponsible, careless, stupid, etc people that fly drones just as there is with virtually every activity.

The Mini and it does have its issues I have read about
though I have not experienced them yet as with the props
hitting and sudden loss of attitude Is what it is.
Asking as in the tittle of this is it good for the hobby I
say yes. It does help get drones into more hands and
would hope all would do the research before they fly
and understand the rules.

I don’t think it’s a flaming thing. There’s plenty of evidence on this forum alone that people aren’t being responsible owners, or educating themselves and I don’t think there have been as many with the other models as there have for the Mini. People have unrealistic expectations of it, and that’s mostly thanks to DJI's marketing.

I hear what you are saying but we see things differently as I see this as knocking
Mini flyers just like when we had to add a ignore feature
as other model owners didn’t want to even see threads
on it.
I was the 5th member here and saw the same thing starting
off because the MP would fly 4 miles right out of the box.
To start a thread implying what the op did sayin because
you had a mini
the less likely rules and regulations are followed.
is a insult .
Yes that’s with all the models but why single out Mini flyers.
Yes it did bring in a lot of members as will what ever they
come out with the 27th.
Now I’m just going to watch this so you guys discuss it.
But do understand guys we are not going to make our new
Mini fliers feel inferior in anyway.

I'm sure I read almost identical topics to this about the Mavic 1 Pro from Inspire/Phantom users...
There was a thread in inspire on the MP that went on for over a page that not only would have insulted you but would have made your blood boil before TJ and I got in it and was closed by Admin. Not sure now if it was deleted or not now but yeah your right.

No desire to bash the mini. In fact I only mention it because I see so many post here and on FB about problems. I haven't taken the time to analyze if the problems are operator error or issues with the mini. My point (forget mini for a moment) is that budget drones could be bad in the sense that more people can throw a drone in the air without many dollars at risk. The extreme is if everyone (for free) had a mini or similar capable drone, what do you think would happen regarding issues with the FAA?

Read it again. Not bashing the mini. I mention both negative and positive outcomes of having a budget priced drone. I only mentioned the mini due to the larger number of post on social media and here about that drone.

It might not have been but you just didn’t mention it
your tittle started this

You want to see just how many cheap drones are out there
check out our sister forum.

I get your point but be assured the mini just happens to be the flavor of the day due to all the post I'm seeing about it. I don't follow many drones manufactured by others outside DJI.

Well get ready cause it’s about to begin again the 27th.
Let me say this you started a thread about the Mini In General where I have to move I can’t tell you how many threads a day to the Mini section to keep members from
complaining cause they don’t even want to read about it let
alone see the thread. Thus the ignore feature I spoke of.
Had the title not mentioned the Mini this thread would not be as it is.
Stay safe .

As a Mini pilot, I can assure you that all the problems I’ve experienced have been pure operator error.

I see no evidence of that at all, in fact it's the reverse. Especially if you take in to account just how far they go breaking the rules.
The expert know it alls feel they don't need to follow the rules.
