.THM files?

My Spark's 16GB MicroSD card was getting low on storage so I decided I was only going to take a few more pictures and then put a new one in. Well, after that flight, I went to back up the card to my computer, and there were only .THM files. What?? I had the pictures set to save as .JPG format and videos as .MP4 format. Every file was 37KB .THM. My computer couldn't read the .THM files and I couldn't find an app to read them with. I lost over 200 pictures and videos from that SD card. Any insight on what might have happened? My theory is that it was some automatic space-saving thing.

Those are Thumbnail (low res) files to the corresponding images on your SD card.
If you want to read/view them, just rename .THM to .JPG
