Three-cell battery bank with mini combo - why?

Hi

i just received my Mini Combo with the 3x charger and 3x batteries. It occurs to me that the most efficient way to charge these batteries would be 2x in the charger and 1x in the drone. Surely a 3x battery pack is only productive with 4x batteries?

What am I missing?

If it's four batteries you're after, then you are missing one of those

Seriously though, having four batteries would be nice and make sense with the four available storage / charging slots. But with the pretty splendid flight times of even a single battery, I'm not complaining. You can always use the hub to charge a depleted one whilst flying with the others and I've yet to use all three included batteries on one sitting.

Well, depends on how you look at it. If you are takking having only the equipment in the kit, charging three batteries in the dock with the remote plugged into it as well is the only way to have everything charging "together". If you plug the drone into it, you've taken away charging the remote. Additionally, if your drone is charging, it's not flying.

Now, if you are talking having a separate power source for the drone or the remote, then yes, charging one battery in the aircraft with an additional three in the dock would be more efficient while not flying

If you have another QC compatible charger, then indeed charging one of the batteries with the AC while simultaneously charging the others in the hub would be productive.
If you have a third high current USB charger, you can also charge the RC at the same time. RC does not have QC fast charging capability.

You can use a standard charger for the AC batteries, it just won't be as fast as a QC charger. Typically it's a difference of 10W vs 18W.

I'm looking at this ad for some time, but the Russian seller on the Chinese website feels as sketchy as it gets. Did anyone ordered and received this charger already? it looks amazing, but looks are deceiving sometimes.

I have this same charger for my Mavic Air, as it charges them simultaneously. Has worked well for over a year. It does get (hot) warm and I would recommend standing on its' end for proper circulation. While I have the hub, I may have to take a look at this for my Mini and of course another battery.

I use the variant for the Mavic Air.
This product is awesome.
Charges all batteries fast unlike the 3 hours it would take to charge the 3 totally depleted MM batteries or 4 hours to charge 4 totally depleted MA batteries with their respective stock chargers.
The idea behind the stock is it will charge the least depleted battery to get you in the air faster.

I just pulled the trigger for this on eBay, kinda feels safer than Russian express. and only 3$ more: 38$
