Yes well I am in Canada so the FAA has nothing to do with my flights.The FAA expects the pilot to be able to see for 3 miles to fly legally. I'm sure there are waivers/exceptions to the rule.

After take off as PIC I determined it was not safe and I was not sure if I could keep VLOS so I landed.

Been there, done that. Straight up as far as I could maintain VLOS, grab shots, straight down.Perhaps I should have said to foggy to fly very far. LOL But yes it was in the air so it did fly.
