I have been trying to figure out how to follow a baseball in tracking mode. What I would like to video is two people playing catch and the drone follows and stays focused on the ball while they throw it back and forth. Any suggestions?

Cool idea! I would start with something big and slow, like a large beach ball, and work your way down to smaller items.

The Mavic will not be able to track something that small and/or something that moves that quickly.

Color is key. Have the people wear green clothing, and use a large brightly colored beach ball, perhaps solid red, against a grass background.

A large beach ball would probably be doable. The OP wants to track a baseball though. Those two are night and day.

Sure - but baby steps. Beach ball, smaller beach ball, soccer ball, softball, then a nice bright orange tennis ball. I could see it working, against a green grass background.

I am going to try it in a day or so, I think the baseball is too small and with it disappearing into a mitt then into a hand it will get lost. Maybe the spotlight mode will be easier. Or, I will just have to manually follow the ball. It is for an instructional video so techniques can't be changed to make the video work.

I think it's an interesting experiment. If the mavic can follow any kind of thrown object, that would be very interesting. It might open up new creative possibilities.
