Transferring photos from smart controller

Having issue with the Go-Share App on the new Smart Controller...Contacted DJI and they Point Blank told me that Go-Share does not work on the Smart Controller and that I should wait for an App Update within 2 weeks...Seems like to me their Smart Controller Name needs to be changed to Buggy Controller

I've taken to calling mine the Semi Smart Controller! I had a heck of a time getting the usb connection between my computer and the controller to see one another - also to transfer files.

That's funny :D What about "no name controller"!

Well, semi no name could stick.

After a few hoops, I got it talking to me Win10 surface book. Assistant saw it right away - I was shocked. even knew it had the correct firmware.

I even somewhat successfully CAST its screen to my Samsung TV. A bit of pixelation here and slow response there. But...

"Semi Smart, No Name Controller", how's that :D

So the W10 Surface book "woke" up and connected with a USB device!

Yes. I had to again search for drivers and maybe I had to install the Assistant program. Or it might have been the chicken bones and blood meal I sprinkled liberally about the keyboard! I don't remember the order I did those things. (g)

But it worked no less Thumbswayup

Just had a bit less trouble actually finding it on another surface tab. That's 3 or 3 after a week of .... Could have made it easier. But it challenges the old gray matter so I guess I should not complain.

Mine works fine for photos, but nada for video. DJI tech told me it was not supposed to work, no sharing at all. I pulled the text from the manual, describing the feature. He changed over to “Hmmm... we’re working on an update to fix that”.

I have not tried. I'm not sure I need a super large, demanding app on my phone only to transfer files. I guess if you want to quickly share them with 3rd parties, then they need to be transferred to something with internet service - either wifi or cellular or my computer.

I want the files on my iPad Pro, without touching SDs or going through other gyrations to get them there.

That kind of matches my wishes - to simplify some of the transfer. That's why I pushed so hard to allow the usb connection between my computer and the Smart Controller. While I wish there were better wireless methods, so far with Android none have been very well enabled. On my older BB phones there was wireless sharing and the phone's internal memory and sd-card just showed up as additional drives on my computer wirelessly. Move/copy/delete whatever and not some oddball browser interface. I've found nothing in android that comes close to that.

But I just did not want to be playing games with tiny sd-cards and adapters and readers and then reversing the process. While usb is not wireless it is better than micro-sd-card shenanigans.

Has anyone been able to use Go Share to get photos off the Smart Controller and onto an iPad or iPhone? First flight was this evening, and I want to get a pic off...

Perfect - thank you!

New to the mavic world...and impressed by the bird, but not with the SC. Tech support has been helpful, but re image transfer - not. the Go share indeed is not avail now for the DJI pilot software. no word when. Like some of you when the SC usb is plugged in, no indication is present in file manager. And the bluetooth option from the SC itself does not work. finally picked up on suggestions re USB into the SC and presto did get some photos off the SC. buggy indeed.

the way i work with it - you set a SD card as an internal storage, and this way it copies all internal android data directories onto it. images and videos will be there, as well as flight logs.
in order to transfer those photos you need to power off SC, get SD card out, copy files and insert it back. do not extract it when SC is powered on if it was mapped as an internal storage.

Hello all.

I am having a hard time transferring photos from the smart controller to my phone via Bluetooth. I have tried paring and using several DJI apps.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips.

Thank you!

Hi,
I see you have some troubles with transferring your aerial media to a smartphone. I’ve solved this thing with a great app - Sync for DJI.

With Sync for DJI, you can download any video and image to Smart Controller with few clicks. I like better user experience in this app unlike in DJI GO 4.

Before installing Sync for DJI you have to install Amazon AppStore on your SC (Smart Controller) or CrystalSky and then install Sync for DJI. Read more about how to do it: How to install app on CrystalSky or Smart Controller | Sync for DJI

BTW! 4K and RAW (DNG) formats are supported in the app. It’s a killer feature cos even native DJI GO 4 doesn’t allow to do it.
