Any spare batteries (not installed in the Mavic) must be carried on the airplane and not put in your carry-on. The only time a lithium ion battery can be put in your checked luggage is if it is installed in the drone.
That is not very clear, looks like a typo but I think I know what you mean should probably read "Any spare batteries must be carried on the aircraft and not put in your checked baggage in the planes hold."
I would also advise against putting any battery of that sort in checked luggage whether its in the Mavic or not. Just not worth the risk in my opinion.

You may not put any spare batteries (meaning they are not installed in the Mavic unit) into your checked baggage. Spare batteries must be placed in your carry-on to be carried aboard the plane.
