TRIPOD SETTING

Good Morning, As a novice I have 5 flights in beginner mode. Would like to experiment with the tripod setting. May I enter the setting from the ground or must the ac be at altitude? Thanks

You can unlock the different flight modes by disabling the Begginer Mode. That's it, easy peasy.
This will also unlock Sport Mode, but be forewarned: it takes a longer distance to stop while in sport mode when your zipping all around the sky.
Go slow, read the manual, and watch the youtube vids. Small steps at a large EMPTY park will go a looong way to your proficiency...

And to answer OP question, you must be in the air to activate tripod mode.

You can get out of beginner mode at anytime, once your out of beginner mode it will stay that way unless you set it back to beginner
