For MM, is it better for the cell phone to be in True North or Magnetic North?

I just deselected compass “True North”, in my iPhone settings.
What else am I supposed to do now?

In my mind, the simple fact of having deactivated true north, will already induce the iPhone to Magnetic North.

I didn’t know there is such a setting in my iphone until now. Anyway, if you have checked the compass reading of the iphone frequent enough, you will find that its not very accurate so true north or not doesn’t matter.

The compass of the phone does not affect the navigation of the drone in any ways. Its just for showing on the DJI app whether you are facing the drone or not .

BTW, my iphone 11 pro running ios 13.4.1 does not allow the user to do compass calibration. The calibration is done automatically as the user rocks the phone around in daily use.

Hi. The GPS receiver natively reads in true north, but can calculate magnetic north based on its true position and data tables; the unit can then calculate the current location and direction of the north magnetic pole and (potentially) any local variations, if the GPS is set to use magnetic compass. Magnetic north changes daily/monthly/yearly so I would stick to true north if you have an option
