It's nice to have a selectable Atti mode again. Haven't had that since my P3P.
But I certainly wouldn’t be tempted to start that up indoors so I won’t be at home! Which is my beef with RID!The 450 will require RID
Acttually DJI's first product was a heli controller that did all of this, back in 2010 (Ace One) before any multicopter stuff. Also released a Naza-H and Wookong-H a couple years later. But it took a decade for these Helis to catch up to what DJI provided us so long ago.
I did not know Dji released a heli. And ya I agree the Helis just LOOK way cooler than a quad. I love all 3 of my quads all for different reasons. The NEO is just a blast to fly. And now so is the new Heli!Acttually DJI's first product was a heli controller that did all of this, back in 2010 (Ace One) before any multicopter stuff. Also released a Naza-H and Wookong-H a couple years later.
But multicopters are just so much better in basically every way in terms of utility/reliability that they've been the obvious focus.
The look is pretty much the only thing helis have left for themselves...
Congratulations! Helicopters have a way of flying that is unlike any other. My new bird arrived today. Going thru everything, charging the battery, reading the manual, the usual lol. The stock 5000 mah 14.8v 4S battery weighs 385 grams. I found and ordered a 2 pack of 6500 mah 15.2v 4S batteries that weigh 465 grams and will fit and from everything I read they will actually perform better and last longer with no compatibility issues. Test flight tomorrow weather permitting!
The biggest difference I notice overall is a heli is much easier to keep track of where the front and rear of the aircraft are during flight, quads mostly look the same from any of the 4 sides and it's easier to lose track of which way is which. Not so with a heli, even at distance it's easy to see which direction is forward. While th sticks behave exactly the same on both (on mine anyway) I actually find the heli easier to fly without flying by camera, which I have no choice as it has no camera. I find I'm getting far better practice on the sticks than I ever have with my quads. I do know how to fly and have been for almost a decade, but this heli is improving my skills immensely and quite easily!Congratulations! Helicopters have a way of flying that is unlike any other.
