Updating firmware!

With all the negativity going around about updating to the latest firmware, I'm wondering if I should anyway.
I flew yesterday and I kept getting the prompt to update firmware. I just ignored it.
It was mostly for the goggles anyway, an illegal apparatus I won't get.
If I don't update, what are the ramifications?

If you run the latest app, then at some point it will not allow you to launch until you upgrade the FW.

Updates are OPTIONAL, it's all up to you.

I agree with Egika. Keep your current version of DJI Go software if you are happy with the firmware on your craft.
