Updating RC settings

Tried updating on the camera mode, no go. Do I have to do this connected to the drone?

Yes. Without connecting to the Drone the controller doesn't know.

All camera related settings (almost all settings really) are stored in the aircraft, so you need to connect the air craft.

Yes, really, the drone. After you place the settings where you want, you can actually fly the craft without the phone or tablet - just your remote control and the drone remembers your previous settings. If you connect the remote to another aircraft, the settings may not be the same, but however the next drone is set at.
