Upward Vision Infrared Sensor

Took off very slowly from under a tree and there was a red warning box on screen to say "upward obstacle detected".

The Mavic didn't stop however as I ascended. Is this sensor purely a warning or should it stop like the front and back sensors?

Apparently it stops but REALLY close.

Yeah it does stop, try putting it in a low hover and put your hand over the sensor, 18” or 400mm then lower your hand, the drone will decend. If you keep going it will continue to decend, it will land eventually.

I do not own a M2 but with my MP the forward sensors detect an obstacle but you must enable Obstacle Avoidance to make it stop in time. I do not know if it is the same for upward facing sensors of the M2.

On a related note, does it work in RTH as well? The manual makes no mention of the upward sensor in this mode.
