do you need to free the gimbal when connecting via usb ?

Yes. Anytime you power your Mavic up, the gimbal does its self test, so pull the cover before turning it on, even just to connect it to your computer.

Hi,

I taped a strip of bright ribbon so I remember to remove the fumble cover and camera clamp. ??
