Hi folks,

Just took delivery of my first drone today, the Mavic Air. Looks awesome so far!

The only problem is, I am in the UK and it has come with an EU plug. I ordered from a site based in Holland but named photospecialist.co.uk. I asked them if they would be sending me a UK version and I was told this would happen. Unfortunately, they lied.

Rather than go through the hassle and time of sending it back, could someone let me know if I just need a standard UK power plug and it will work or is there more to it?

I'm not clued up on electronics so don't want to plug it in just in case. I know there are different amperages of fuses in plugs in the UK too, so unsure which it should be. I can't seem to find the power plug that comes with the drone in the UK to buy separately if that would even work anyway.

Hopefully, someone can clear this up for me and I can get flying soon. :)

Cheers

All you will need to do is unplug the figure of 8 cable with the EU plug on the end and swap it for a UK version which is about 99p on Amazon or eBay.

The power supply itself is not region specific.

Go down to your local Tescos, they sell them. 3amp fuse is more than enough.

That's great, I had no idea what size fuse was necessary as the first one I looked at online had 13A in it so had to check. Thanks!

Actually, make it 5amp as thats what the plug on my charger says.

Might as well stick with what DJI went with.

Even better. If that's whats in the standard one provided then I'll go with that. Thumbswayup Fingers crossed I don't blow it up!

It will be fine, like I said previously, the charger itself is universal as it accepts voltage from 100v to 240v and converts to 12v for charging the batteries and 5v for the USB sockets.

All you need to do is swap the cable for a one with a UK plug.

Thanks, I ended up using a figure 8 lead I had lying around with 3 amp fuse in it and it worked perfectly. :)
