Using WiFi repeater with the Mavic Pro

I am able to setup my Xiomi WiFi Repeater to connect to my Mavic Pro using the WiFi mode and my smartphone as the controller. Have yet to test fly with this setup but am wondering if anyone had done this before. The downside is that on WiFi mode , the altitude is limited to 50m and maximum distance limited to 80m with only 3 intelligent flight mode available, tap fly, follow me and active track. Appreciate any sharing from anyone who had tried this. It opens up a cheaper version of just getting the mavic pro without the controller and yet may be able to extend the flight boundaries on WiFi.

Honestly, instead of a Mavic limited to 80 meters distance, I'd just get a Spark.

Dont get me wrong - I would recommend you stick with the recommend way of flying. If something were to happen to your Mavic, it may not get covered under warranty.
