What video quality settings I should record if I have plans to edit in post to create speed ramp effects; both fast and slow motion.
Goal is to produce smooth…buttery clip without any shakes or jerking.
I would assume 4k at high frame rate?
But what frame rate is ideal.

Any frame rate can speed up smoothly. But 60fps is good for slowing down.
If you want it to be buttery smooth, when speeding up, stick to even multiples of your display frame rate to keep it smooth. i.e. 200%, 300%, 400%.

When slowing down, stick to your display frame rate. (i.e. 24fps, 30fps)

Getting normal speed with 24fps display frame rate won't be smooth with a 60fps clip.

But 30fps display can be made smooth at normal speed with a 60fps clip by only displaying every other frame (200% speed up).

Not sure how many people pay attention to this when they shoot and edit. In the end, the edit and what you shot sometimes requires you to move outside these bounds.
